# Privacy policy

Passkey Recovery is an independent academic research project conducted as part of the Bachelor of Computer Information Systems program at Mount Royal University. This policy describes how information submitted through passkey-recovery.org is handled during the project’s pre-launch phase.

## Information collected

If you join the study waitlist, the project collects your email address and the date and time you joined. Limited technical information required to operate and secure the website, such as server logs or information used to prevent abuse, may also be collected. Research study data is not currently collected through this website.

## Use, sharing, and retention

Your email address is used only to notify you when participation opens and send information directly related to participating in the study. It is not used for unrelated marketing. Personal information is not sold. Service providers may process only the information needed to operate the website or send email, and some providers may process or store information outside Canada.

Waitlist information is kept only as long as needed to recruit study participants. You may ask to be removed at any time, subject to limited records required to honour or document the request.

## Research participation

Joining the waitlist does not enrol you in the study and is not research consent. Before participating, you will receive separate information about the study, the data collected, and your rights.
