Passkey Recovery is an independent academic research project conducted as part of the Bachelor of Computer Information Systems program at Mount Royal University.

This policy describes how information submitted through passkey-recovery.org is handled while the project is in its pre-launch phase.

Information we collect

If you join the study waitlist, we collect your:

• email address
• date and time you joined the waitlist

We may also collect limited technical information required to operate and secure the website, such as server logs or information used to prevent abuse.

We do not currently collect research study data through this website.

How we use information

Your email address is used only to:

• notify you when participation in the Passkey Recovery study opens
• send information directly related to participating in the study

We will not use the waitlist to send unrelated marketing email.

Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal information.

Information may be processed by service providers used to operate the website or send email. These providers receive only the information needed to provide those services.

Some service providers may process or store information outside Canada.

Retention

Waitlist information will be kept only as long as it is needed to recruit participants for the study.

You may ask to be removed from the waitlist at any time. Once removed, your email address will no longer be used for future waitlist communications, subject to any limited records that must be retained to honour or document your request.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe from the waitlist at any time using the unsubscribe link included in our emails.

You may also contact us to ask about the information associated with your email address or request that it no longer be used.

Research participation

Joining the waitlist does not enrol you in the research study and does not constitute consent to participate in research.

If you choose to participate when the study opens, you will receive separate information about the study, the data being collected, and your rights as a research participant before providing research consent.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated as the project develops.

Any privacy terms relating to the research study itself will be provided separately before research participation begins.
